DNO - During their ongoing working trip to the southern provinces of Laos, a high-level delegation from Da Nang, on Wednesday, visited and extended New Year greetings to the Party Committee, People's Council, Government, and Lao Front for National Construction of Salavan Province, as well as witnessed the signing of key cooperation agreements between the two localities.
On behalf of the city’s leaders, Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang expressed his joy at the growing bilateral ties. He emphasized that cooperation between Da Nang and southern-central Lao provinces, particularly Salavan, was not only economic collaboration but also a symbol of deep and close ties.
He affirmed that Da Nang regarded Salavan as a key strategic partner along the East - West Economic Corridor and a close, trusted friend.
During the meeting, the leaders of the two localities witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Da Nang People’s Committee and the Salavan Provincial Government for the 2026 - 2030 period, as well as a cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang and the Lao Front for National Construction of Salavan between 2026 and 2031.
Under the agreements, the two sides committed to strengthening comprehensive cooperation while continuing to nurture their special friendship, with a focus on economy, trade, investment, tourism, logistics, agriculture and forestry, digital transformation, human resource development, and education and training.
Da Nang also pledged continued support for Salavan’s socio-economic development, in line with its budget capacity and relevant legal regulations.
As part of the program, the Da Nang delegation extended Lao New Year greetings and presented gifts to Salavan’s leaders.
Also on the same day, the delegation visited and conveyed New Year wishes to the Vietnamese Association and the Vietnamese Language Center in Salavan Province.
During the visit, the delegation provided financial support of VND 200 million to the association and presented gifts to the center and its teachers.
