DNO - During their ongoing working trip to the southern provinces of Laos, a high-level delegation from Da Nang, on Tuesday, visited and extended New Year greetings to the Party Committee, People's Council, Government, and Lao Front for National Construction of Sekong Province.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Le Ngoc Quang conveyed New Year greetings to the Party organization, authorities, and people of Sekong Province. He also expressed confidence that the locality will continue to achieve significant development milestones in the coming time.
The Party Secretary noted that Da Nang has approved a policy to support Sekong in building a new hospital, with a total investment of US$ 6.7 million, to be implemented between now and 2030.

Following this, both sides held an official talk and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between the Da Nang People’s Committee and the Sekong Provincial Government for the 2026 - 2030 period.
In addition, a separate cooperation agreement was also inked between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang and the Lao Front for National Development of Sekong for the 2026 - 2031 period.

Under the deals, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to upholding the long-standing tradition of solidarity and mutual support, working together to overcome challenges and promote stable, sustainable, and long-term development.
In the economic sphere, the two localities will prioritize cooperation in trade, investment, sustainable tourism, and logistics, as well as the development of agricultural and forestry supply chains. Collaboration will also be strengthened in digital transformation, labor, and employment.

Regarding cooperation in education and training, both sides agreed to enhance comprehensive coordination, including long-term training and short-term capacity-building courses, support for learners, and the sending of lecturers.
Da Nang will continue to admit and provide full scholarships for officials and students from Sekong Province to study at educational institutions in the city.
Additionally, Da Nang will send teachers to teach Vietnamese and coordinate the organization of short-term training courses in political theory, public administration, economics, agriculture and forestry, healthcare, Party building, professional skills, and digital transformation.

The visit, New Year greetings, and signing of the MoU mark an important milestone in concretizing the comprehensive cooperation orientations between Da Nang and Sekong in the new phase, laying a foundation for deeper, more effective, and sustainable ties between the two localities.
