DNO - According to international experts, Vietnam is emerging as a bright spot on the Southeast Asian tourism map with international visitor numbers already surpassing those of 2019.
In that general growth picture, Da Nang is considered a locality with many new competitive advantages, opening up more opportunities to become a national and regional tourism hub.
One of the city’s most outstanding strengths is its high hotel room occupancy rate which always remains more stable than other destinations.
Also, the city has a lot of room for future growth. This means that the city not only maintains a stable source of demand but also possesses a "golden gap" to enhance value through a wide range of new tourism products and services, especially in such areas as MICE, resort travel, and entertainment.
Mr. Cao Tri Dung, the interim Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, highlighted Da Nang’s competitive advantages through Porter’s diamond model with four key factors.
These factors include input factor conditions (a central gateway of Vietnam, rich natural resources, modern infrastructure and services, and high-quality human resources), demand conditions (experiential travel, MICE, expanded international markets), business structure and competition level (the presence of major corporations and international hotel brands), and supportive policies from the government (resolutions, special mechanisms).
The application of this model shows that the merger not only combines the potential of the two localities but also creates a "push" to elevate the position of Da Nang as a national tourism hub with regional and international stature.
With an international airport, seaports, and a five-star accommodation capacity of more than 65,000 rooms, the highest in the country, Da Nang is gradually meeting the standards of many leading tourism centers in Asia.
To fully realize its abovementioned target, Da Nang will prioritize expanding and upgrading infrastructure, particularly hotels, resorts, and MICE centers to meet international standards.
At the same time, sustainable development will go hand in hand with preservation, heritage protection, and the promotion of local community livelihoods.
Also, attention will be paid to training high-quality human resources and increasing the application of digital technology in operation management and tourist experience such as VR360, AI and cashless payment.
Importance will be attached to expanding regional cooperation with Hue and Quang Ngai, and boosting international connections, especially the Vietnam - Laos corridor, to enhance development space.
Last but not least, greater efforts will be made to ensure tourism safety and security with a modern rescue, medical and support infrastructure system, to strengthen the confidence of global tourists.
