Da Nang steps up cooperation with the US's Oregon state

The statement was made by Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Ky Minh during his meeting on Friday with a group of visitors from the US’s Oregon State who came to explore cooperation opportunities in the central coastal city.

The delegation included Mr. Andy Reed, Global Trade Manager at the Port of Portland; Mr. Colin Sears, Global Trade Manager at the Port of Oregon; and Ms. Julia Babcock, CEO of New Rose City Consulting.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh briefed his US guests on the city’s strong recovery and growth momentum in 2025, with its economic structure shifting in the right direction toward services - industry - agriculture.

He added that social welfare, social housing and poverty reduction programs have been implemented in a synchronized and effective manner.

Discussing cooperation orientations, Mr. Minh proposed that Oregon support and strengthen linkages in key sectors such as seaports, airports and logistics, as well as share experience in developing financial centers and attracting investment in semiconductors and artificial intelligence (AI).

Representatives of the Oregon delegation expressed their impression of Da Nang’s development and affirmed the state’s readiness to share experience in areas of the city’s interest.

Oregon also hoped to further explore cooperation opportunities in cargo transportation, free trade zone development and the semiconductor industry.

On the occasion, Vice Chairman Minh invited leaders and businesses from Oregon to attend and work during Da Nang’s Economic, Financial and Technology Week scheduled for July 2026.
