DNO - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee Ho Ky Minh, on Monday, warmly received a delegation from the US State of Oregon, led by Mr. Daniel Loc Nguyen, Chairman of House Committee on Economic Development, Small Business and Trade, and a member of the Joint Subcommittee on Transportation and Economic Development.
During his reception, Vice Chairman Minh emphasized that the United States has always been identified as one of Da Nang’s key partners. To date, the city has attracted 97 U.S-invested projects with a total registered capital of nearly US$ 550 million, ranking third in terms of total foreign investment capital in Da Nang.
The city leader voiced his hope that the cooperation between Da Nang and Oregon in particular and the United States in general will be further strengthened in such aspects as hi-tech manufacturing, semiconductor, artificial intelligence, agricultural and food products, forestry and wood processing, trade and consulting services, and market research and development.
At the same time, he emphasized that the model of free trade zones and an international financial center with special mechanisms will create a breakthrough for Da Nang in the coming time.
The city pledged to create favourable conditions for Oregon enterprises to learn about the investment environment in Da Nang, as well as support laboratory models to connect with international cooperation programmes in microchip research, design, packaging and testing, Mr. Minh added.
In reply, Mr. Daniel Loc Nguyen thanked the city leader for his thoughtful and respectful reception.
He informed that during their stay in Da Nang, the Oregon delegation paid a visit to the Software Park No. 2 and had working sessions with the Danang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Center for Research and Training, the Authority of the High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones and other relevant agencies to discuss opportunities for trade and investment cooperation, particularly in the Da Nang Free Trade Zone.
