DNO - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City Nguyen Dinh Vinh, on Wednesday, warmly received Mr. Igor Baiazov, the newly appointed Consul General of the Russian Federation in the city, who paid a courtesy visit to mark the official start of his term.

At the reception, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City congratulated Mr. Igor Baiazov on his new role and believed that the new Consul General would have a successful tenure. This contributes to the promotion of cooperative relations between Da Nang and the partners from the Russian Federation.
Briefing his guest on the city’s development, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vinh noted that Da Nang is expanding its urban space, thereby creating greater opportunities for international cooperation.
The city is currently focusing on the development of spearhead sectors such as seaports, airports, logistics, free trade zones, an international financial center, an innovation and startup hub, and a smart city. These are the strategic areas where Da Nang seeks to attract businesses and investors from the Russian Federation.

The Da Nang leader hoped the new Consul General would serve as an effective bridge to promote Da Nang's investment opportunities to the Russian businesses.
Alongside, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Vinh called for stronger collaboration in high-quality human resource training, tourism connections, and others.
Russian diplomat Igor Baiazov expressed his gratitude for the warm reception extended by the Da Nang leaders. He also noted that he used to live in Da Nang. So, he was very impressed by the city’s rapid socio-economic development and transport infrastructure when he had returned.

Highlighting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, Mr. Igor Baiazov affirmed that one of his top priorities is to promote direct cooperation between Da Nang and Russian localities.
The newly appointed Consul General pledged to do his utmost to support connections across the fields of economics, culture, and tourism while striving to call on Russian businesses to explore investment opportunities in Da Nang in the coming time.
