DNO - As part of their ongoing working trip to Switzerland, a delegation of Da Nang’s officials, led by Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Ngo Xuan Thang, had a working session with the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) on Monday.

Deputy Secretary Thang thanked SECO for its warm welcome and active support for Da Nang's projects. He also informed that the city is currently implementing the Local Public Financial Management Reform Technical Assistance Program (2022 - 2026) co-funded by the World Bank (WB) and SECO.
He added that after more than two years of implementation, the program has achieved many outstanding results. In addition, other activities, co-financed by WB and SECO, have proven highly effective, resulting in practical, well-applied outcomes.
Moreover, WB-funded technical assistance programs have continued to demonstrate effectiveness, including the Public Financial Management Reform Technical Assistance Program (2022 - 2026) worth CHF 3 million, and the Da Nang - World Bank Joint Working Group (DWG) established in October 2022, aiming for comprehensive, long-term and sustainable cooperation.
The city's leader voiced his hope that SECO and WB will continue assisting Da Nang with projects on digital transformation, climate change adaptation, urban management capacity building, and public financial management reform.

In reply, SECO representatives highly appreciated Da Nang’s great efforts in effectively implementing ODA-funded programs and projects in the past time, and affirmed that they will continue to accompany the city during its development journey.
Both sides agreed to strengthen information sharing and closely coordinate in preparing and implementing new cooperation programs, contributing to helping Da Nang promote its role as a dynamic central urban area of the Central Highlands - Central regions.
Also on the same day, the city’s delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Switzerland.
Deputy Secretary Ngo Xuan Thang expressed his gratitude to Chargé d’Affaires Chu Thu Hang and the Embassy of Vietnam in Switzerland for their warm reception and support during the delegation’s working visit.
He also informed that on November 3 and 4, 2025, Da Nang coordinated with the Swiss Embassy in Vietnam and the Swiss - Viet Economic Forum to successfully organize the Swiss - Viet Economic Forum 2025 in the city, attracting about 300 participants.
On this occasion, he invited Chargé d'Affaires Chu Thu Hang to attend the Seminar "Da Nang - A new Destination for Fintech and Green Finance in Vietnam", scheduled to be held on the morning of November 12, 2025 in Zurich. The event is jointly organized by the municipal People's Committee in collaboration with the Swiss Fintech Association and the Association of Young Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Europe.

For her part, Chargé d'Affaires Chu Thu Hang expressed sympathy for Da Nang residents affected by the recent floods. She also expressed her delight at the city’s dynamic growth, especially the Central Government's attention in issuing many specific mechanisms and policies for the city, notably the establishment of the International Financial Center and the Free Trade Zone.
She affirmed that the Embassy of Vietnam in Switzerland will continue to act as a bridge, introducing more Swiss enterprises to Vietnam in general and Da Nang in particular to explore cooperation and investment opportunities, especially in aspects related to the International Financial Center and Free Trade Zone, in the coming time.
