DNO - Da Nang is stepping up efforts to establish stronger connections and standardize product quality in a bid to bring locally made OCOP products into the city’s resorts and tourism facilities.

According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, efforts to connect OCOP products tourism activities have yielded positive initial results.
For instance, KOI Resort & Residence Da Nang has set up a dedicated space to showcase OCOP products, while the “Da Nang Quintessence” display area at Da Nang International Airport has provided an additional channel for promoting local products to visitors.
Mr. Vu Thanh Bac, a representative of Hoiana Resort, informed that to enter the luxury hotel supply chain, products must meet a range of rigorous standards, including international quality certifications such as VietGAP, ISO, and HACCP.
Also, suppliers must also have sufficient production capacity to provide large volumes consistently without relying on seasonal output, he added.
In addition, packaging must meet sustainable development standards, as green consumption is becoming a top priority.
To address these challenges, a representative of the Da Nang Tourism Association proposed establishing a “tourism distributor” model.
Under the model, a qualified intermediary entity will act as a central distributor, collecting products from small-scale producers, conducting quality inspections, taking legal and invoicing responsibility, and operating a professional logistics system to supply resorts.
The model is considered a fundamental solution to overcoming the small-scale production capacity of OCOP producers.

Da Nang currently has 477 OCOP products made by 339 producers across various product categories.
This represents a substantial pool of products and producers for distributors, retailers, hotels, resorts, e-commerce platforms and exporters to explore cooperation opportunities.
Ms. Vu Thi Bich Hau, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Agriculture and Environment, said the city has consistently allocated substantial resources to support craft villages and OCOP producers.
With annual funding reaching hundreds of billions of VND, Da Nang has been assisting artisans and cooperatives in upgrading facilities, standardizing production processes, and enhancing product quality.
The goal is to upgrade local specialties from ordinary consumer goods into high-value-added products capable of meeting the most stringent standards of the tourism market.
From a commercial perspective, the local industry and trade sector is working to strengthen its role as a “bridge” to help distinctive local products reach wider markets.
In particular, through the “Made in Da Nang” program, the city has established 28 promotional sites and dedicated display counters at tourism destinations and Da Nang International Airport.
In the coming period, the city will encourage producers to develop compact products and eco-friendly packaging designs to better meet tourists’ demand for souvenirs.
