Looking back at the progress of the relations between Da Nang and Malaysian partners, Secretary Quang expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Dato' Tan Yang Thai’s active support for the city's foreign affairs, investment and trade promotion, and tourism activities.
Briefing the Malaysian diplomat on the city’s socio-economic development, Mr. Quang stated that Da Nang is focusing on developing logistics, high-tech and semiconductor industries, as well as speeding up plans for an international financial center and a free trade zone.
The city aimed to achieve economic growth of 11% or higher in 2026, he added.
The city Party chief took the opportunity to call on the Malaysian Ambassador to continue supporting the connection between Malaysian investors and Da Nang to explore cooperation opportunities in technical infrastructure, high technology, semiconductors, healthcare, and education.

He also voiced his hope that the Malaysian government would share its experience in governance models and development policies with the city.
For his part, Ambassador Dato’ Tan Yang Thai expressed his admiration for Da Nang's development achievements, especially in infrastructure, investment attraction, and tourism.
He affirmed that he would continue acting as a bridge to encourage more Malaysian businesses to expand their investment in Da Nang.
Da Nang currently attracts 16 FDI projects from Malaysian businesses with a total investment of over US$ 267 million, mainly focusing on services, electronic component manufacturing, semiconductors, and processing industries.
In 2025, the city welcomed nearly 238,000 Malaysian visitors, an increase of over 24% compared to the previous year. At present, there are 39 direct flights per week connecting Da Nang and Kuala Lumpur.
