At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Tran Chi Cuong said the city has been authorized by the Vietnamese Government to pilot several special mechanisms aimed at developing into a major socio-economic hub in Southeast Asia, with a strategic focus on logistics, high technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), the digital economy and innovation.
With a regard to cooperation with Belarus, Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong noted that the two sides had signed several agreements many years ago. At present, Da Nang is coordinating with the Embassy of Belarus in Ha Noi to renew the cooperation agreement between the Da Nang People’s Committee and Mogilev (Belarus), based on the document originally signed in 2014.

In the coming period, Da Nang proposed that the Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City support the launch of direct charter flights connecting Belarusian localities with Da Nang, while promoting cultural and tourism exchanges and introducing businesses to explore investment and import-export opportunities in this central Vietnamese city.
Mr Alexander Sidoruk highly appreciated Da Nang’s role as the economic and tourism hub of Central Vietnam, describing this city as a promising partner for promoting interregional cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus.
According to Mr Alexander Sidoruk, Mogilev remains interested in renewing its cooperation agreement with Da Nang. He also proposed that, once the agreement is finalized, both sides organise working delegations, investment promotion activities and business networking forums to foster more substantive cooperation.
