DNO - Da Nang is seeing a steady rise in tourist arrivals from Russia, CIS countries, and Belarus, driven by intensified air connectivity and expanded international promotion campaigns targeting these markets.
In the first four months of 2026, Da Nang welcomed more than 142,000 visitors from Russia and CIS countries, accounting for approximately 3.7% of total international arrivals.
The figure represents an increase of over 20% compared to the same period in 2025, underscoring a strong post-pandemic recovery and renewed travel demand from the region.
The growth has been supported by a coordinated strategy with a focus on high-potential long-haul markets. Key initiatives include participation in MITT Moscow 2026, one of the largest international tourism fairs in Russia and Eastern Europe, where Da Nang was recognised as the “Most Outstanding Destination.”
Alongside trade fair engagement, the central Vietnamese city has strengthened partnerships with Russian travel agencies, media organisations, and airline operators.
Famtrips have also been organised to allow international tour operators to experience Da Nang’s coastal tourism products, hospitality infrastructure, and cultural offerings firsthand.
A notable development in 2026 is the expansion of direct air services from Russia, CIS countries, and Belarus to Da Nang during the summer season, further improving accessibility for long-haul travellers.
The increased flight frequency is expected to sustain growth momentum in the coming months, particularly in the premium beach holiday segment.
From April 1 to October 31, 2026, Anex Tour Vietnam will substantially scale up its charter network to Vietnam, connecting 20 cities across Russia, the CIS, and Belarus with key destinations including Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Phan Rang.
The total projected volume is expected to exceed 250,000 tourist arrivals during the 2026 summer season, signaling strong momentum in inbound travel from these markets.
For Da Nang alone, Anex Tour Vietnam will operate charter services from April 16 to October 31, 2026, linking 12 cities, including Moscow, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Kazan, Khabarovsk, Novokuznetsk, Blagoveshchensk, Barnaul, Minsk, Astana, and Almaty.
During the peak summer period, the city is expected to welcome approximately 68,160 visitors from these markets.
In addition, Da Nang has launched its first international digital marketing campaign on the Yango ecosystem, a widely used technology and mobility platform across Russia and CIS markets.
Through integrated services such as mapping, ride-hailing, search, and digital advertising, Da Nang’s tourism image has been directly delivered to millions of Russian-speaking users in their daily digital environment.
The city, therefore, witnessed a significant rise in search queries, website traffic, and online engagement from Russia and CIS audiences. Also outstandingly, Russian has emerged as one of the most frequently used languages on Da Nang’s official tourism platforms.
The combined impact of air connectivity expansion, targeted promotion, and digital outreach is positioning Da Nang as an increasingly attractive destination for Russian and CIS travellers, particularly in the mid-to-high-end coastal tourism segment.
