Da Nang looks to strengthen cooperation with Chinese localities

Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung made the statement when receiving Mrs. Dong Biyou, Consul General of China in the city, on Tuesday.

At the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Manh Hung thanked Mrs. Dong Biyou for her kind congratulations extended to the city's leaders and government.

He also highly appreciated the close coordination and active support of the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang in promoting economic cooperation, and cultural and people-to-people exchange in recent years.

He emphasized that the friendly cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China continued to develop positively in various fields.

Providing an update on local development, Chairman Hung said the merger of administrative boundaries has created significant room for Da Nang’s growth in the years ahead.

Besides new opportunities, the city is also focusing on addressing difficulties and challenges to ensure the effective operation of the two-tier local government model.

The city leader acknowledged and highly valued Mrs. Dong Biyou’s attention to exchange activities, educational and training cooperation, as well as business connectivity initiatives.

In particular, he highlighted the Chinese Consulate General’s coordination in social welfare activities, including support for housing repairs for disadvantaged families in the city.

These practical efforts, he said, have contributed to strengthening friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

Chairman Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that Da Nang still had substantial development potential and would create favorable conditions for Chinese businesses to explore investment opportunities.

In the coming time, Da Nang will continue to promote friendly and cooperative relations with Chinese localities, he affirmed.

At the same time, he took the opportunity to call on the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang to further play its role as a bridge, enhancing connections and supporting the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the years ahead.
