In recent years, cooperation initiatives ranging from municipal-level programs to grassroots connectivity models at commune and ward levels have continuously contributed to enhancing Da Nang’s reputation and positioning the city as a dynamic player on the international stage.

Deepening international integration

During the 2021 - 2025 period, Da Nang achieved many outstanding results in foreign relations activities.

In particular, the city welcomed over 3,000 high-level international delegations, signed more than 130 cooperation agreements, and maintained regular ties with 59 partners across 24 countries and territories.

Cooperation was comprehensively implemented across the fields of economics, investment, culture, education, science and technology, and human resource development.

Several effective local cooperation models have been established with partners such as Daegu (South Korea), Yokohama and Sakai (Japan), and Boras (Sweden).

Over recent years, Da Nang has been emerging as an attractive destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) in high-tech, semiconductor, and artificial intelligence industries.

It has drawn the attention of major corporations such as Synopsys, Marvell, NVIDIA, Renesas, and Intel.

At the same time, the successful organization of international conferences and forums, along with cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy activities, has greatly contributed to promoting the city’s image as dynamic, friendly, and globally connected.

Strengthening grassroots cooperation

Many localities in Da Nang have actively concretized foreign policy orientations into practical cooperation programs, suitable to local conditions and development needs.

Over recent years, the relationship between the Hai Chau Ward and Uiwang City in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, has remained stable and continued to develop in line with Da Nang’s integration process and urban modernization efforts.

Similarly, Cam Le Ward authorities have actively inherited and strengthened friendship and cooperation ties with Muju County in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, South Korea, building on the foundation previously established by the former Cam Le District People’s Committee.

Notably, Hoi An has become a bright spot for tourism and service development, and promoting the image of Vietnam to the world.

The locality has continuously innovated its promotional activities, and organized numerous cultural, artistic and international exchange events.

It has also developed tourism products associated with community experiences, traditional craft villages, cuisine, and heritage preservation.

These grassroots cooperation models demonstrate how Da Nang is gradually establishing a comprehensive and synchronized approach to foreign relations, extending from the city level to local communities.

In the years ahead, Da Nang will further leverage local-level cooperation as an important, flexible, and highly promising diplomatic channel. Through these efforts, the city aims to strengthen its position as a reliable, safe, and attractive destination for international investors and global partners.
