DNO - An exhibition themed “Women in Science: Escape Road - The Search for Future Nobel Laureates, and Inspiration Corner: Spanish Women Scientists” was officially opened on September 22 at the Da Nang Museum.
In attendance at the opening ceremony were Spanish Ambassador to Vietnam Carmen Cano de Lasala, and representatives from municipal departments and agencies.
Co-organized by the museum and the Embassy of Spain in Vietnam, the exhibition introduces the stories of 26 female scientists who have received prestigious awards, including the Nobel Prize, the Abel Prize, and the Fields Medal.
The document focuses on their biographies, research journeys, and achievements across various fields from medicine, biotechnology, chemistry, physics to mathematics.
At “An Inspiration Corner: Spanish Women Scientists”, a part of the exhibition, the stories of eight outstanding Spanish female scientists from different generations and fields of research are featured. The stories cover their journeys of education, research, innovation, and overcoming challenges while serving as inspiration for the younger generation, particularly female students.
On this occasion, the Da Nang Museum and the Embassy of Spain organize an educational activity called “Explore with a Scientist” for junior secondary school students in the city.
Participants have opportunities to interact with the scientists, learn about their career, engage in fun experiments, take on the role of “Young Scientists”, and participate in the competition “Ring the Golden Bell” themed “The Journey of Building Knowledge.”
The exhibition runs until September 30 at the Da Nang Museum, located at 31 Tran Phu Street, Hai Chau Ward, Da Nang.
