DNO - Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi received Carmen Cano de Lasala, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Vietnam, during her visit to the city on the morning of September 22.
Nguyen Thi Anh Thi expressed her pleasure at welcoming the Spanish Ambassador and thanked the Embassy of Spain in Vietnam for its support for the city’s cooperation activities in recent years.
Briefing the Ambassador on Da Nang’s socio-economic development and the city’s key priority sectors, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi expressed her hope for stronger cooperation in economics, investment and trade, as well as expanded exchanges in culture, sports and tourism, closer education and training links, and greater local-level cooperation between Da Nang and Spain.
Nguyen Thi Anh Thi expressed hope that the Spanish Embassy and the Ambassador would continue to serve as a bridge connecting leading Spanish corporations and businesses with Da Nang to explore investment opportunities, particularly in the city’s key projects.
She also called on the Spanish Embassy to help connect Da Nang with a provincial-level administration in Catalonia of a similar scale and with diverse development potential, with a view to establishing a formal cooperation relationship.

Ambassador Carmen Cano de Lasala thanked Da Nang for its warm reception and affirmed that Spain attaches importance to strengthening relations with Vietnam in general and Da Nang in particular.
She hoped that the two sides would pursue investment cooperation initiatives to further deepen their relationship.
The Ambassador also voiced her desire to expand cooperation across a range of sectors to capitalise on the strengths and potential of both sides, particularly in education and cultural exchanges, including the introduction of Spanish-language teaching in schools in Da Nang.
