DNO - More than 3,000 runners are expected to take part in the Hoi An Heritage Half Marathon 2026 on August 30, as the ancient town prepares to combine sport, culture and heritage in a distinctive running event.

Organised by the Hoi An Ward People’s Committee in cooperation with Belove Mountain, the event is designed to offer runners more than a physical challenge.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore Hoi An’s historic landscape while running through an urban space known for its distinctive architecture, cultural heritage and traditional way of life.
The race will feature three distances: 5km, 10km and 21km , catering to a broad range of participants, from first-time runners and recreational athletes to experienced runners seeking to complete a half marathon in a heritage setting.
Preparations are now being finalised to ensure the event is ready to welcome runners on August 30.
Taking place around the iconic Hoi An landscape, the race is expected to give participants a different perspective on the UNESCO-recognised heritage town, where historic streets, architecture and everyday community life become part of the running experience.
Oganisers aim to create an experience connecting running with cultural discovery. For participants, each kilometre offers an opportunity to slow down, observe the surroundings and experience the atmosphere of one of Vietnam’s best-known heritage destinations.
The Hoi An Heritage Half Marathon 2026 is therefore positioned not simply as a sporting event, but as an invitation to discover the town through movement, bringing together runners, visitors and the local community while highlighting Hoi An’s enduring cultural character.
