DNO - The Nghe An Forest Protection Department officially handed over 593 live wild animals to the Vinpearl River Safari Nam Hoi An for long-term care and conservation.

The animals, confiscated in December 2023 in the central Vietnamese province of Nghe An during a criminal case involving violations of endangered wildlife protection laws, had been temporarily transferred to the safari for care.
Prior to the handover, officials inspected animal enclosures, health conditions, and rescue facilities at the safari. The surviving animals will continue to be cared for at VinWonders Nam Hoi An, serving conservation, scientific research, species identification, training and environmental education purposes.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Giau, the General Manager of Nam Hoi An Safari, the trust shown by authorities demonstrates the center’s reputation in wildlife rescue.
“This motivates our team to provide the best possible habitat for rescued species, while contributing to biodiversity conservation and spreading awareness about protecting wildlife and nature”, said Ms. Giau.
Since August 2023, VinWonders Nam Hoi An has carried out 23 rescue missions, successfully saving more than 3,200 individuals from 70 species.
Alongside its conservation work, the biodiversity reserve is also one of Vietnam’s most unique tourism attractions, welcoming over 600,000 visitors annually.
