DNO - Vice President of the Alliance of Russian Travel Agencies and CEO of the Pink Elephant travel agency network, Alexan Mkrtchyan, on August 5, stated that Vietnam ranks among the top 5 destinations for Russian tourists in 2026, alongside Turkey, Egypt, China, and Thailand.
According to Mr. Alexan Mkrtchyan, the travel demand of Russian visitors to Vietnam has risen by approximately 30%, driven by Vietnam Airlines launching flights to Russia and expanding its route network.
Meanwhile, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) affirmed that a stronger ruble and the expansion of direct flights to tropical destinations, including Vietnam, are key drivers of growth in Russia's tourism sector.
Sales of tours to Vietnam from Russia surged by nearly 200% in 2025 following the resumption of direct flights to the Vietnamese resort cities of Nha Trang and Phu Quoc.
Russian tourists are particularly fond of Vietnam's renowned coastal destinations, such as Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Phan Thiet, Da Nang, and Ha Long.
Additionally, ATOR notes that a combination of reasonable costs, attractive destinations, and a welcoming tourism environment is making Vietnam a preferred choice for Russian travelers.
Notably, Vietnam has recently risen to fourth place on the list of Asian destinations most searched by European tourists for the summer of 2026, while also becoming among the fastest-growing markets in asia.
