Variety of sports activities to be held in Da Nang during National Day holiday

Notably, the traditional boat race on the Han River, scheduled for August 30, will showcase Da Nang as a dynamic, friendly city rich in cultural identity to both domestic and international visitors.

In addition to local teams, the event will see the participation of strong teams from across the country, thereby enhancing the competition’s intensity.

Forty-four teams are expected to compete in categories for both men and women.

A section of the Han River between the Han River Bridge and the Dragon Bridge promises to come alive with the cheers of spectators along the both banks and on the city’s iconic bridges.

Notably, a highly anticipated event will be the Heineken Pickleball World Cup 2026 slated from August 30 to September 6 in Da Nang.

With the participation of over 5,000 athletes from 81 countries and territories, the event is more than just a sports tournament; it is an international sports festival.

The tournament is expected to draw domestic and international visitors to Da Nang for combining a vacation with the chance to witness top-tier matches played by world-class athletes.

Mr. Tao Viet Hai, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated that the plans for sports activities over the upcoming holiday have been meticulously prepared, aimed at ensuring the best possible experience for participants.

Through these activities, Da Nang wanted to promote the image of a dynamic city offering diverse experiences and unique tourism products, he added.

According to the department, alongside tournaments held throughout the year, Da Nang focuses on hosting large-scale sports events during public holidays to stimulate tourism demand.

These events significantly contribute to enhancing the city’s appeal, particularly among young sports enthusiasts, as well as advertising the image of a dynamic and hospitable city to domestic and international visitors.
