DNO - As logistics infrastructure projects gain momentum, Da Nang City is actively attracting investment through external relations activities and expanded international cooperation.
Proactive promotion efforts
In late April, a Da Nang delegation led by Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong paid working visit to Malaysia and China.
The delegation met with APM Terminals, a subsidiary of APM Terminals B.V. (Netherlands) and one of the investors in the Lien Chieu container port project.
The delegation then surveyed the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, a major ASEAN logistics hub integrating automated port operations with free trade zone management. Da Nang also invited businesses to explore infrastructure investment opportunities in the Da Nang Free Trade Zone.
The delegation later worked with the Iskandar Regional Development Authority to study governance and strategic investor attraction models before continuing to Qingdao and Yiwu in China.
Qingdao was viewed as a reference for IT infrastructure, investment incentives and electronic customs systems, while Yiwu’s integrated wholesale and logistics model offered insights into multimodal transport and smart customs operations.
During the trip, Yiwu leaders expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Da Nang in logistics and supply chains.
According to Le Thi Kim Phuong, Director of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade, the visit underscored Da Nang’s commitment to creating favourable conditions for international business cooperation and connectivity.
Building sustainable linkages
In recent years, Da Nang has stepped up international economic integration through investment, trade and tourism cooperation, welcoming foreign business delegations while also sending city missions abroad.
These efforts have strengthened ties with global partners and attracted resources for both traditional sectors and emerging areas such as the digital, green and circular economies, as well as innovation.
A key example was the Vietnam Logistics Forum 2025, jointly organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Da Nang People’s Committee, which showcased the city’s logistics potential and created opportunities for supply chain connectivity.
During the event, the Da Nang Logistics Association was officially launched to support enterprise connectivity, competitiveness and digital transformation.
The association recently held its first congress for the 2026–2031 term with 70 members.
According to Duong Tien Lam, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Logistics Association and Head Representative of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association office in Da Nang, the congress will focus on policy development, business connectivity, human resources, digital transformation and international market expansion, particularly within the Greater Mekong Subregion and global markets.
