Da Nang enhances international cooperation to develop decentralized AI infrastructure and smart city

In his opening speech delivered at the event, Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ho Quang Buu emphasized the importance of staying ahead of new technology trends such as decentralized AI and authentic data infrastructure.

He added that the rapid development of AI, big data and decentralized infrastructure models not only created new tools but reshaped the digital infrastructure structure, management methods and growth models for modern cities.

He, therefore, stressed the necessity for Da Nang to update knowledge and prepare access capacity in order to realize its strategic goals from building a smart city to improving governance efficiency and developing an International Financial Center.

The conference featured insights from the world’s leading scientists, including Professor Max (Chong) Li from the Columbia University who holds more than 200 patents in the United States and serves as a blockchain advisor to the United Nations, and Professor Pramod Viswanath from the Princeton University, a scientist holding the prestigious title of Forrest G. Hamrick Professor in Engineering.

Participating experts presented in-depth presentations on decentralized AI, data authentication standards, and legally compliant AI models.

Delegates also discussed the roadmap for applying AI in Da Nang’s public services, aiming to build an administrative system operating on transparent, secure, and verifiable data.

Within the framework of the event, the People's Committee of Da Nang and SecureFinAI Lab of the Columbia University inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the training of high-quality AI human resources, research collaboration, and the development of technology infrastructure supporting the digital economy.

The signing is considered one of the big steps for Da Nang to realize its strategy of becoming a regional hub for AI.
