DNO - The “Top 100 Da Nang Touchpoints” program for 2026 offers a fresh perspective on the potential for developing tourism products across the city. Beyond well-known destinations, a wide range of cultural and nature-based experiences have been nominated by the community, helping bring lesser-known local values and distinctive cultural identities into the spotlight.

Untapped potential in the South

In addition to established tourism hubs, the southern part of the city boasts a wealth of significant architectural, historical, artisanal, culinary, and natural landscape assets that could enrich the city’s existing tourism products.

Loc Yen Ancient Village in Thanh Binh Commune was one of two destinations featured in the announcement and experiential tour of the “Top 100 Da Nang Touchpoints” programme for 2026, held in late October. Here, participants explored traditional houses, stone-paved paths, local crafts and regional cuisine.

From the ancient village, the journey continued to Bai Say - Song Dam in Ban Thach Ward, known for its picturesque waterways and distinctive natural ecosystem. Thanks to its unique and exceptional character, the bird-watching experience at Bai Say - Song Dam was selected as one of the “Top 100 Da Nang Touchpoints”.

The connection between these two destinations highlights the potential for developing themed tourism itineraries in the city's southern area.

It also offers a way to expand the city's tourism space, particularly as Da Nang now boasts abundant cultural, ecological and community-based resources.

A diverse spectrum of destinations and experiences

Going beyond just showcasing locations in the southern part of the city, the “Top 100 Da Nang Touchpoints” program for 2026 highlights the diverse ways in which the community perceives and selects memorable experiences.

Launched in April 2026, the program received over 1,500 nominations from local residents, visitors, businesses, and those who cherish Da Nang.

Following a thorough review, 477 valid nominations were shortlisted for public voting. The initiative garnered more than 42,000 votes, which served as the basis for finalizing the list of 100 “touchpoints”.

The list is organized into six thematic categories: Identity, Taste, Pristine Nature, Tranquility, Moments and Local Life.

Familiar tourism icons such as Dragon Bridge, Golden Bridge, the Marble Mountains, Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Sanctuary, the Museum of Cham Sculpture and the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival also feature on the list.

Notably, the program highlights a number of everyday experiences that are often overlooked in conventional travel itineraries. Food also remains an important part of the overall visitor experience.

Expanding the list of experiences also creates opportunities for localities with cultural and ecological assets that have yet to gain widespread recognition to become more actively involved in tourism.

As local values are identified and appropriately promoted, residents will have greater opportunities to provide tourism services, develop handicraft and culinary products, and offer experiential activities rooted in community life.
