DNO - As part of the ongoing Da Nang Food Tour 2026, the culinary parade “Carrying Flavors of Da Nang” took place on Wednesday afternoon along the My Khe Beach and other coastal tourist streets citywide.
Considered the most distinctive and innovative highlight of this year's festival, the event offered a creative approach to promoting local culinary culture by bringing images of street food vendors, familiar hawking calls, and daily life into a modern festival setting.
More than 70 food vendors carrying traditional shoulder poles paraded across the sandy shore, weaving through crowds of visitors amid familiar street calls. This recreated simple yet nostalgic scenes deeply embedded in the memories of many generations in Central Vietnam.
Several themed food groups were featured during the event, including “Memory Lane”, “Hometown Flavors”, “Coastal Streets”, “Green Mountains”, “Three Regions”, “Five Continents”, “Refreshing & Sweet”, and “Take Home Da Nang”.
These showcased a wide range of specialties, from internationally recognized Vietnamese dishes such as Quang noodles, Cao Lau, Banh Xeo, seafood specialties, and mountain delicacies to global cuisines including Japanese sushi, Mexican tacos, and Italian pizza.
Each “flavor cart” is a distinct cultural slice, contributing to a journey of culinary exchange between local cuisine, regional Vietnamese specialties, and international gastronomic excellence.
According to the festival’s organizers, the special feature of the program lied in its combination of artistic parade performances and interactive outdoor culinary experiences - a relatively new model for tourism and food festivals in Vietnam today.
Therefore, the festival space not only was a venue to enjoy delicious food but also offered an opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in local life through sounds, images, and the vibrant rhythm of the coastal city.
Through the “Carrying Flavors of Da Nang” culinary parade, the city aimed to honor its culinary culture and further promote it as an attractive destination for festivals, events, and food in the region.
The Da Nang Food Tour 2026 is taking place from May 20 to 24 at the East Sea Park, Tam Thanh Beach Square, and many other locations across the city. It features a wide range of diverse, creative, and experiential series of activities.
