DNO - The Indian government is willing to support Da Nang in various areas, especially in the conservation of the My Son temples and towers, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Periasamy Kumaran made the pledge during his visit to the My Son Sanctuary in Thu Bon Commune on Saturday morning.

Deputy Minister Periasamy Kumaran was accompanied by Mr. Tshering Wangchuk Sherpa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam.
On behalf of the city's leaders, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi expressed her sincere thanks to Deputy Minister Periasamy Kumaran and Ambassador Tshering Wangchuk Sherpa for their active support for the city in recent years.
Notably, the Indian Embassy has played an important role in facilitating and connecting the Government of India to provide ODA funding for projects on the restoration of Cham towers at My Son and the Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery, as well as coordinating and organizing cultural and artistic exchange activities in Da Nang, she added.
Vice Chairwoman Thi voiced her hope that Da Nang will continue receiving the attention and support of Deputy Minister Periasamy Kumaran and Ambassador Tshering Wangchuk Sherpa in several areas, particularly the continued assistance in conserving and restoring the A’ Group at the My Son Sanctuary; and the construction of an exhibition center to showcase artifacts unearthed and research findings from the conservation projects of Groups A, H, and K during the 2017 - 2022 period, as well as Groups E and F over the 2024 - 2029 period.
She wished that Da Nang will soon launch a direct flight with India via Indigo Airlines, contributing to attracting more Indian tourists to Da Nang and strengthening cooperation in this field.
At the same time, the city hoped that India will introduce partners and corporations with strong financial capacity to invest in Da Nang in the near future.

Expressing his appreciation for the warm reception by Da Nang’s leaders, Indian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Periasamy Kumaran noted that 2026 marked the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Viet Nam and India, during which many commemorative activities will be held in Vietnam.
He showed his delight at the positive results in cooperation between the two countries in economic fields, with bilateral trade turnover exceeding US$ 16 billion.
In the defence sector, India has worked closely with Vietnam on several projects, including the establishment of maintenance and repair centers for military equipment, surface vessels, and submarines. In addition, India has implemented a number of smaller-scale projects in Vietnam, notably the projects at My Son.
“We look forward to cooperating with Vietnam in such spheres as science and technology development, information technology, defence technology, renewable energy, AI, data centers; port and transportation connectivity projects; and human resource development” Deputy Minister Periasamy Kumaran noted.
Indian tourists showed keen interest in Vietnam, with Da Nang being a particularly attractive destination. This is an area where both countries have great potential for cooperation, he emphasized.
