Hi-tech agriculture: A new investment direction in Da Nang

Hi-tech agriculture is an inevitable step to create a breakthrough in the quality and productivity of agricultural products while meeting the growing demand for safe and clean ones.

Hi-tech agriculture helps farmers optimize the environment, as well as save costs for food, fertilizers, veterinary medicine and labour thanks to the application of automation and modern technologies.

Once productivity rises and the products meet quality and safety standards, the markets will respond positively, thereby gaining great economic value per unit of production.

A large-scale hi-tech agricultural production project in the south of Da Nang is the THACO Chu Lai Agro-Forestry project covering an area of ​​451 hectares in Tam Anh Commune.

The over VND 8.100 trillion project features a scientific research center, model farms applying advanced technologies for fruit trees and forestry plants, livestock areas, and fruit processing factories.

So far, the city has included in its planning the 190ha Binh Sa Hi-tech Agricultural Production Area in Thang Truong Commune, the 100ha Tam Phu High-Tech Agricultural Area in Quang Phu Ward, and the Binh Sa and Binh Nam Concentrated Aquaculture Areas in Thang Truong Commune.

According to Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Nam Hung, investing in high-tech agriculture is very practical and suitable for the new trend. This is the right direction to actively contribute to promoting the city's socio-economic development, especially supporting farmers to access and apply advanced technologies in production so as to increase economic efficiency and promote environmentally friendly production.

The city continues to research and issue mechanisms and policies to support hi-tech agricultural production, especially site clearance and clean land fund, to attract more investors in this field.

By tapping into its potential and advantages, Da Nang aims to expand investment in hi-tech agriculture, develop large-scale commodity production, produce high-quality products, and increase its competitiveness in both domestic and global markets.
