Around VND 80 trillion Da Nang Downtown project gets off ground

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Ho Ky Minh said that Da Nang was on a strong journey to affirm its position as a regional leading hub for tourism, commercial, service and entertainment.

He noted that the Da Nang Downtown project, located in the heart of the city and offering a variety of entertainment, recreation and commercial experiences, is expected to become a vibrant destination. It will contribute to awakening the potential of the night-time economy, and strengthening the appeal of the local tourism industry.

With the methodical planning and experience of the project’s investor Sun Group, the city leader believed that Da Nang Downtown will be a new driving force for the city’s growth, contributing to perfecting the local tourism infrastructure and acting as a strong catalyst for services, trade, and cultural and artistic development.

Vice Chairman Minh took the opportunity to request relevant departments and agencies to closely work with the investor to ensure the project’s on-schedule, high quality and safe implementation.

At the same time, he hoped that people will support the project so that it could be completed and put into operation soon, becoming a source of common pride for the city.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Chairman of the Sun Group in Central Viet Nam, revealed that the Da Nang Downtown project will create a new landmark commensurate with the position and strengths of the new Da Nang, especially helping the city unlock the potential of the night-time economy to lure more both domestic and foreign tourists.

Sun Group expects Da Nang Downtown to lift Da Nang tourism to new heights, on pair with Asia’s leading tourist destinations such as Singapore, Shanghai or Hong Kong (China).

Sun Group is committed to mobilizing all resources to ensure progress, quality and efficiency, while complying with regulations on construction, labour safety and environmental protection, Chairman Binh said.

Covering a total area of 76.92 hectares in Hoa Cuong Ward (former Asia Park), the around VND 79.79 trillion Da Nang Downtown complex will feature a cultural and entertainment park, a theater, a riverside commercial area, a green riverside park along the Han River, and the 69-storey signature tower - the tallest in Central Viet Nam.
