DNO - Vietnam’s Sun Group and the Da Nang People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday for the development of infrastructure at location No. 5 of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, as well as the construction of Cable Car Line No. 9, and a cluster of resort hotels, entertainment venues and a multi-functional performance center within the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Eco-Tourism and Urban Complex.
Delivering his congratulatory speech at the ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said that among the three launched projects, the project on infrastructure development of site No.5 served as the “kick-off" one for the Da Nang Free Trade Zone established under Decision No. 1142/QD-TTg by the Prime Minister.
He also highlighted the strategic significance of the project to the city's socio-economic development. It is expected to strengthen Da Nang's role as an important trade gateway for Central Vietnam and the whole country, and gradually becoming an essential link in the global and Asia-Pacific supply chain networks.

Mr. Triet also noted that the two projects in the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Eco-Tourism and Urban Complex will greatly contribute to completing the classy and multi-experience ecosystem in Ba Na, and meeting the growing demand of tourists, especially when Da Nang targets to welcome tens of millions of visitors each year.
The city's leader requested Sun Group to quickly carry out the necessary procedures to soon put the projects into construction.
Chairman of Sun Group in Central Vietnam Nguyen Van Binh informed that the two important components of the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Eco-Tourism and Urban Complex had a total investment of up to VND 52 trillion.
These projects were considered vital pieces in completing Sun Group’s diverse tourism, entertainment and resort ecosystem in Da Nang, contributing to realizing the city’s goal of developing its night-time economy.
Once completed, the projects will not only create unique tourism products for Da Nang in the new era, but also help transform the city into a day-and-night entertainment worthy of its status as a tourism capital of Central Vietnam.
Sun Group is committed to mobilizing all resources, and complying with regulations on construction, labor safety and environmental protection regulations to complete the projects on schedule.
Previously, on August 26, 2025, the Da Nang government issued a decision approving the investment policy and investor selection for a project to develop infrastructure in the functional site No. 5 in the Free Trade Zone.
Accordingly, the selected investor is the Ba Na Cable Car Service JSC headquartered in An Son Village, Ba Na Commune, Da Nang.
Covering an area of 90 hectares in Ba Na Commune, the project has a total investment of over VND 808 billion, including more than VND 121 billion contributed by the investor.
The project's operation term is 70 years. Work is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2025 and be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027.
