DNO - Tran Thi Mai Trinh, 21 years old, from Dien Ban Bac Ward, has grown from a young volunteer into the leader of Green Da Nang, inspiring young people to protect the environment through community clean-up campaigns and greener lifestyles.

Trinh joined the Vietnam Green Community at 18, initially taking part in simple activities such as collecting rubbish, cleaning public spaces and raising environmental awareness.
Through these experiences, she realized that successful environmental campaigns were not measured merely by the amount of rubbish collected but also by their ability to change public behavior.
Her dedication and leadership skills gradually earned her greater responsibilities, leading to her appointment as the Green Da Nang leader at just 19.
Working alongside hundreds of volunteers, Trinh has organized numerous initiatives, including Clean Up Son Tra, Joining Hands for a Greener Da Nang, Green Sunday and Clean Up Vietnam.
These campaigns have helped improve public spaces while encouraging young people to adopt environmentally responsible habits.
Green Da Nang also brings together students, volunteers, Youth Union members and border guard personnel, turning environmental awareness into practical community action. The group aims to promote sustainable lifestyles and contribute to Vietnam’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
Nguyen Ngoc Anh, leader of the Vietnam Green Community, praised Green Da Nang as one of the organization’s most active and creative local groups since its establishment in 2022.
She said that its increasingly well-organized campaigns have attracted growing numbers of young volunteers and strengthened cooperation among local organizations.
Beyond environmental protection, the activities help participants develop practical skills, teamwork and a stronger sense of community responsibility.
Through sustained community engagement, Trinh and her fellow volunteers continue to encourage young people to take responsibility for their surroundings and contribute to building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Da Nang.
The Vietnam Green Community currently connects more than 200,000 volunteers nationwide, promoting environmental awareness and sustainable living. Meanwhile, Green Da Nang has attracted nearly 10,000 Facebook followers. Its social media platform helps coordinate activities, connect volunteers and share inspiring stories.
