Deputy PM directs flood response efforts in Da Nang

DNO - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on Wednesday arrived in Da Nang to inspect the situation and direct flood response, rescue, and recovery efforts across the city.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang inspected the ​​An Tay Ancient Quarter in Dien Ban Dong Ward where 44 households are currently submerged with many completely isolated due to rising floodwaters.

At the site, Deputy PM Ha and Secretary Le Ngoc Quang kindly inquired about the health and living conditions of affected residents, presented relief gifts, and encouraged them to ensure safety and overcome the challenges.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested the municipal government and functional forces to urgently review the situation and maintain around-the-clock personnel and equipment readiness to support local residents.

"Efforts should be made to ensure that no household is left without food, clean water, or essential supplies" he emphasized.

Later the same day, Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha directly surveyed the serious coastal erosion along Hoi An Tay Ward.

After assessing the situation, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the erosion is becoming increasingly complex, posing direct threats to the lives of coastal residents and affecting nearby transport infrastructure and community facilities.

He, therefore, urged the Da Nang leaders to conduct comprehensive research, and select feasible technical and construction solutions to tackle the erosion situation in a sustainable manner, while ensuring the safety of people and protecting the local landscape and environment.
