DNO - As part of their ongoing visit to southern-central provinces of Laos, a group of Da Nang’s officials, led by Chairman of the municipal People's Council Nguyen Duc Dung, met with leaders of Salavan Province on Tuesday.

Welcoming the Da Nang delegation, Secretary of the Salavan Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Daovong Phonekheo expressed his appreciation for active support provided by Da Nang in recent times, particularly in infrastructure and human resource training.
Mr. Daovong Phonekheo said that the two sides would continue to expand cooperation across various sectors, especially in the innovation of People's Council operations, in the coming time.

On behalf of Da Nang’s leaders, Chairman Nguyen Duc Dung thanked the Salavan provincial authorities for their warm welcome.
He also congratulated the province on the success of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the 10th Salavan Provincial Party Congress, as well as on the province's notable achievements across various fields.

The Da Nang leader also thanked Salavan Province for its attention to and support for the Vietnamese community living in the province.

Under the 2026 - 2030 cooperation program recently signed between Da Nang and the southern-central provinces of Laos, including Salavan, the city will continue to allocate resources to effectively implement the agreed areas of cooperation.
For the 2026 - 2027 academic year, Da Nang provides 30 scholarships for officials and students from the Lao province to study in the city.
The city also sends two teachers to teach Vietnamese at the Salavan Provincial Vietnamese Language Center.

The Da Nang Youth Union will continue carrying out its international volunteer program, organizing medical check-ups, providing medicines, and presenting gifts to poor and disadvantaged households in Salavan Province.
On the occasion, Da Nang offered VND500 million in support to Salavan Province for implementing social welfare activities and addressing the aftermath of the flooding in late August 2026.

Also on the same day, the Da Nang delegation visited the Association of Vietnamese People and the Vietnamese Language Center in Salavan Province.
During the visits, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung inquired warmly about the lives and daily activities of the local Vietnamese community, as well as the centers’ staff and teachers.

He thanked the Salavan authorities for their continued support for the Vietnamese community living and studying in the province, as well as for facilitating the effective operation of the Vietnamese Language Center.
On the occasion, the Da Nang delegation provided VND100 million in support to the Association of Vietnamese People in Salavan, VND10 million to the Vietnamese Language Center, and gifts to the two teachers sent by Da Nang to teach at the center.
