DNO - Da Nang welcomed more than 620,000 visitors during Vietnam’s National Day holiday break from August 30 to September 2, marking a 24% increase compared with the same period in 2024.
According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourists were drawn to the city’s vibrant celebrations and diverse attractions.
In Hoi An ancient town, part of Da Nang now, visitors enjoyed the festive atmosphere with streets decorated in flags and flowers. Crowds gathered near the iconic Cau (Bridge) Pagoda strolling and taking photos.
“The atmosphere here is unique, lively yet retaining its nostalgic charm” said Nguyen Thuy Linh, a tourist from the capital city of Ha Noi.
At the Sun World Ba Na Hills, international visitors were equally impressed. “I feel very fortunate to visit Da Nang during the National Day holiday. The Golden Bridge and the performances here are truly remarkable,” said David Lammy from the UK.
The site recorded thousands of visitors daily, with domestic tourists accounting for around 80%.
Other destinations also reported strong turnout. The Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park welcomed more than 14,000 visitors over four days, while the Marble Mountains, a national heritage site, attracted about 3,500 visitors daily, 80% of them international.
Da Nang organized a wide range of cultural and entertainment events, from the fire-breathing Dragon Bridge to traditional craft demonstrations, folk music, and street art in Hoi An.
This year’s holiday activities were lively and diverse, meeting the public’s demand for cultural and recreational experiences.
Tourism revenue reached an estimated VND 2.2 trillion (US$ 87 million), up 28% year-on-year. International arrivals were estimated at over 168,000, a 49% increase, while domestic tourists numbered more than 452,000, up 17%.
Hotel occupancy averaged 55 - 60%, with four- and five-star properties reaching 65 - 70%. Several hotels in popular areas reported over 80% capacity.
The Da Nang International Airport handled 687 flights during the holiday, averaging 137 per day, an 18.4% increase compared with 2024.
The figures confirm Da Nang’s position as one of Vietnam’s most attractive destinations, offering both cultural richness and modern entertainment.
