On September 1, police in An Hai Ward, Da Nang confirmed they had returned the belongings to Mr. Soon Chul Kwon, who misplaced the bag while strolling and swimming at Pham Van Dong Beach.

The bag was discovered by two Vietnamese citizens, Mr. Le Van Tuyen, 42, and Mr. Mai Van Tinh, 44, both from Thanh Hoa Province.

Inside were more than VND 31 million and US$104 (equivalent to over VND 2.7 million).

The two men promptly handed the bag over to An Hai Ward Police. Authorities quickly verified the owner and arranged to return the property.

At the handover, Mr. Kwon was visibly touched. He thanked the two citizens and the local police, describing the experience as an unforgettable memory of the honesty, kindness, and hospitality of the Vietnamese people.

Good deeds such as this highlight not only the city’s appeal as a tourist hub but also the strong sense of community and integrity shown by its residents.

Da Nang, one of Vietnam’s most popular coastal destinations, has become a favorite among South Korean travellers in recent years.

For Mr. Kwon, what could have been a distressing experience turned into a positive story of goodwill, leaving a lasting impression of trust and warmth during his time in Vietnam.
