DNO - In the final months of 2026, the Department of Industry and Trade of Da Nang City will implement various effective solutions to achieve the target of double-digit economic growth via trade and import - export activities, making a significant contribution to the overall economic growth of the city.

Positive signs
A report from Da Nang's Department of Industry and Trade, commercial activities in the city have recently seen positive growth, with the basic goods market remaining stable, the supply of essential items being ensured, and the shopping and consumption needs of local people and tourists being well met.
In the first five months of 2026, retail sales of goods continued growing considerably, an increase of 21% compared to the same period last year. Import - export activities continued to be a bright spot of the city's economy, with the turnover rising 14,5% year-on-year.
In particular, the export turnover reached 1,983 million USD, up 13.5%; import turnover reached 2,022 million USD, up 15.4%. These results demonstrated the capacity of the city-based businesses in production, and participation in supply chain to be enhanced.
To achieve the target of 11 - 12% growth in commercial activities and goods exports in 2026, the city's Department of Industry and Trade will focus on synchronously implementing trade promotion activities, developing the domestic market, and expanding exports.
Accordingly, several domestic and international trade promotion programs will be mentioned.
Key activities will include hosting the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) International Trade, Tourism, and Investment Fair - Da Nang 2026. This will create opportunities for Da Nang businesses to connect and trade with domestic localities and international partners, especially countries along the EWEC.

The city will arrange and facilitate the participation of local businesses in trade promotion activities in key and emerging markets, including Laos, China, Australia, Malaysia, and Taiwan (China), with a view to diversifying export markets and seeking new business partners.
Boosting export capacity for businesses
Director of Mayaca Coffee One Member Limited Liability Company, Ho Duc Tien, said that thanks to trade promotion activities abroad, his company has gained access to new business methods that are currently emerging trends.
As a result, Mayaca Coffee One's clean coffee products have become widely known to both domestic and international customers. The company's orders and revenue have increased significantly compared to their domestic market operations in Da Nang.
According to Director of the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade, Le Thi Kim Phuong, various programmes have been organised this year by the city authorities to support local businesses improving their export capacity, effectively leveraging cross-border e-commerce platforms, expanding markets, and participating more deeply in global supply chains.
In particular, the 'Da Nang - Regional Online Export Hub' programme is expected to take place in August, as is the Indo-Pacific Economic Corridor Forum in August. Recently, a 'Halal – The Gateway to the Global Market for Businesses' seminar took place on June 11.
Besides, various seminars/training sessions to support local businesses taking advantage of the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) that Vietnam has joined, especially the new-generation FTAs, should not be missed.

With the promotion programmes mentioned above, Da Nang tries to reach the targets of trade and import - export activities, making a significant contribution to the city's goal of double-digit economic growth in 2026.
