DNO - The Southern part of Da Nang City is considered as a major growth pole, thanks to its well-developed infrastructure and industrial potential. It makes a positive contribution to Vietnam’s double-digit economic growth target in 2026.

Key industries
The two communes of Nui Thanh and Tam Anh, located in the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone (OEZ), have attracted several key projects in the industrial sector.
For example, the Chu Lai - Truong Hai Automotive Mechanical Industrial Park, covering an area of 243ha, has attracted 45 secondary projects, including 13 projects involved in auto production, assembly and distribution, and 32 projects operating in the fields of mechanical manufacturing and auxiliary industries.
The occupancy rate in the industrial park reaches 85%, providing regular employment for approximately 12,000 labourers.
The Chu Lai OEZ has so far attracted 262 projects with a total registered capital of approximately VND 161,891 billion, including 195 domestic projects with a total registered capital of VND 128,717 billion, and 67 foreign ones with VND 32,700 billion.
The industrial sector alone accounts for 65% of the total number of projects, including 14 for industrial park infrastructure and 190 for industrial production and business.
Therefore, the Southern side of Da Nang is considered as a driving force for industrial development, the Chu Lai OEZ as its core with the automotive and mechanical engineering industry cluster.
According to Chairman of the People's Committee of Nui Thanh Commune Hoang Chau Son, Nui Thanh owns its advantages in industrial development and synchronized infrastructure. So, the locality is actively promoting and creating favourable conditions for businesses to develop.
In the first six months of 2026, the local total budget revenue in the key industries reached over 5,350 billion VND. It is an important foundation for Nui Thanh to continue affirming its role as a dynamic economic and key industrial region of Da Nang City, based on the pillars of industry and logistics.
Head of the Chu Lai OEZ Management Board Nguyen Hong Quang said the Chu Lai - Truong Hai Automotive Complex will be developed focusing on increasing the localization rate, creating automotive products with appropriate technology, meeting international standards, and participating in the global value chain, linked with the strong development of supporting industries.
This will lead to the formation of a national multi-purpose mechanical and automotive center, along with the Tam Hoa Heavy Industry Zone, serving as a driving force for the entire Central Vietnam Key Economic Region.
Removing the bottlenecks of land clearance
In Tam Anh Commune, the Tam Anh - Korea Industrial Park, specializing in infrastructural construction of industrial parks, owned by C&N ViNa Tam Anh - Korea Co., Ltd., covers an area of over 193ha.
Up to now, phase 1 of the project has been completed. It is also put into use for an area of 84ha, including the industrial park's fire protection system and a centralized wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 6,000 m3/day. The industrial park has attracted 10 secondary projects, covering an area of nearly 53.3ha. Phase 1’s occupancy rate has reached nearly 82%.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Anh Commune Tran Van Truong said the locality has actively accelerated in removing the bottlenecks of land clearance, especially focusing on key projects, such as: THACO - Chu Lai Industrial Park; Tam Anh - An An Hoa Industrial Park; Tam Anh 1 Industrial Park; Tam Anh - South Korea Industrial Park.
At present, the locality has identified the industrial sector as a major factor for development. The top priority is land clearance, creating the foundation to accelerate the implementation of key projects, with a focus on the expansion of the Chu Lai - Truong Hai Automotive Mechanical Industrial Park covering a total area of 115ha.
