DNO - On Wednesday morning, a delegation from the Lao Ministry of Public Works and Transport, led by its Minister Leklay Sivilay, paid a working visit to Da Nang to exchange experience on urban development, transport infrastructure and logistics.

During the reception, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Le Quang Nam expressed his pleasure at hosting the Lao working group in the context of the continued strong development of the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic ties between Vietnam and Laos.
He noted that Da Nang is currently focusing on restructuring and planning its development space in line with the Vietnamese Government’s orientation, aiming to build a multi-centered, modern, smart and sustainable urban area.
The central Vietnamese city remains ready to share information and practical experience in urban planning, infrastructure investment, and logistics development to support localities in Laos in their development process.

Also at the meeting, Da Nang also briefed the Lao delegation on the upgrading and renovation project of National Highway 14D, which connects Ben Giang to the Nam Giang International Border Gate.
The city further introduced its port system capacity, logistics services and models of road management, operation, and maintenance that are being effectively implemented in Da Nang.
Highly appreciating Da Nang’s socio-economic development and urban infrastructure achievements in recent years, Minister Leklay Sivilay said the delegation had gained valuable practical experience for study and application in Laos’ transport infrastructure and urban development.
He expressed satisfaction that Da Nang is implementing the upgrade of National Highway 14D, viewing it as a positive signal that will enhance regional trade connectivity.
The Minister also noted that efforts would be made to encourage Sekong Province in Laos to coordinate the development of a connecting route with National Highway 14D, aiming to improve freight transport efficiency, promote trade, and create new development momentum for southern Laos in the coming period.
