DNO - During his reception on Wednesday for Mayor of Japan’s Sakai City NAGAFUJI Hideki, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Manh Hung highlighted the city’s strong potential for breakthrough development thanks to its well-developed transport infrastructure and special policy mechanisms granted by the Vietnamese Government.

Chairman Hung stated that Da Nang prioritized attracting high-quality investment capital in such spheres as hi-tech, seaports, aviation, logistics, international finance, and the future free trade zone.
He voiced his hope that Mayor NAGAFUJI Hideki would act as a bridge to promote Da Nang and encourage Japanese businesses to explore more investment opportunities in the city.

In reply, Mayor NAGAFUJI Hideki expressed his impression on Da Nang's strong development.
He also pledged to do his utmost to actively promote Da Nang’s image in Japan, as well as develop concrete plans to realize cooperation initiatives, especially in areas of mutual interest such as carbon-neutral city projects, cultural and artistic exchanges, and people-to-people diplomacy.
Japan is currently among the top three sources of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Da Nang, with 301 projects totaling over US$1.22 billion in registered capital.
In 2019, Da Nang and Sakai upgraded their relationship to that of Friendship Cities, marking a significant milestone in the cooperative relationship between the two localities.
