(ĐNO) - Da Nang city (new), formed by merging Da Nang city and the central province of Quang Nam, is rich in natural, historical, and cultural resources.
The new city now has a unique opportunity to redefine the tourism map of Central Vietnam and position itself as both a national and international tourism center.
Da Nang city now encompasses some of Vietnam’s most exceptional tourism assets: two UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary; the Cu Lao Cham World Biosphere Reserve; the Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son); Ba Na Hills; Son Tra Peninsula; the pristine Pomu forest; and stunning beaches like An Bang, Tam Thanh, Non Nuoc, My Khe, Man Thai, and Nam O.
Da Nang has become the only locality in the country with two international airports - Da Nang and Chu Lai.
Notably, Da Nang is increasingly becoming a hotspot for golf tourism, regularly hosting major international golf event such as the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang and the Asia Golf Tourism Convention.
Altogether, these assets form a “treasure trove” of potential for developing a wide range of tourism types from eco-tourism and cultural tourism to marine and island tourism, as well as experience based tourism.
Among these, the strategic development of marine tourism linked with the blue economy is seen as a key direction.
