From bustling markets and authentic cuisine to cultural encounters and community-based activities, the city invites visitors to go beyond sightseeing and immerse themselves in genuine local experiences.

For first-time visitor Nguyen Thi My Linh from the southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang’s famous Con Market was an irresistible stop. Guided by locals, she chose dried squid, sesame cakes, and seasoned seafood as gifts.

“The sellers were enthusiastic, the products had clear origins, and the prices were reasonable. It made shopping here easy and trustworthy,” she shared.

Tour guides confirm that today’s travellers are more selective. Beyond taste, they seek transparency, fair pricing, and cultural authenticity.

According to the Con Market management board, more than 90% of items are now clearly priced, with labels and vendor contacts attached.

Customers can even return or exchange products within 24 - 36 hours if unsatisfied, an assurance that builds trust.

No wonder the market attracts thousands daily to shop and enjoy local delicacies such as banh trang cuon thit heo (pork rolls), banh xeo (crispy pancakes) and mi Quang noodles.

In addition to food, Da Nang is carving out space for immersive outdoor experiences. At the Dung Dinh Camping in Hai Van Ward, visitors camp under the stars, take photos in lush rice fields, enjoy bonfires, and learn about Co Tu ethnic traditions.

Founder Le Thanh Dan even connects tourists with local weaving workshops and community projects, enriching both travelers and residents.

According to Cao Tri Dung, the Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, the future lies in offering distinctive products tied to local identity.

“Visitors want to explore culture, experience and bring home something unique. We must work together to enhance quality and expand promotion to create sustainable value for the destination”. he added.
