Da Nang leaders welcome commander of the Japan Coast Guard

DNO - On the afternoon of January 19, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh received Rear Admiral Takahashi Toru, Vice Commandant of the Japan Coast Guard, during his visit to the city.

At the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh expressed his pleasure in welcoming the leadership and commanding officers of the Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel to Da Nang.

Providing an overview of Da Nang following its administrative consolidation on July 1, 2025, Standing Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh noted that the city’s development potential has expanded significantly.

He highlighted key priorities such as logistics-integrated seaports and aviation, high-tech industries, the digital economy, and high-tech agriculture.

Furthermore, he emphasised that the visit of the Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel strengthens friendship and mutual trust, aligning with the Viet Nam - Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership upgraded in November 2023.

Rear Admiral Takahashi Toru, Vice Commandant of the Japan Coast Guard, expressed his pleasure at the warm and respectful reception extended by the city’s leadership.

During their visit to Da Nang, the Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel conducted a courtesy call on leaders of the Da Nang People’s Committee, visited the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre Region 2 and Coast Guard Region 2, and took part in local cultural activities.
