DNO - The Japanese coast guard patrol vessel Akitsushima, led by Rear Admiral Takahashi Toru who is Vice Commander of the Japan Coast Guard, with a crew of 60, docked at the Tien Sa Port on Monday, beginning a five-day friendly visit to Da Nang.

During their five-day stay in the city from January 19 to 23, the delegation paid courtesy calls to leaders of the municipal People’s Committee, the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region 2, and the Coast Guard Region 2.
They will also take part in various cultural exchange activities as well as learn about local life and history.
The visit by the Akitsushima is clear evidence of the efforts to enhance mutual understanding and trust, as well as to promote cooperation between the maritime law enforcement forces of Vietnam and Japan.
The visit contributes to further deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world, while promoting the Vietnam - Japan relations toward deeper, more substantive, and effective development.
The patrol vessel Akitsushima (PLH32) is approximately 150m long and 17m wide. It has a displacement of about 6,500 tons, and is capable of carrying two helicopters simultaneously.
