A tourism promotion programme for Central Vietnam has been recently held in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Jakarta (Indonesia).

Attracting more than 200 travel agencies, airlines, and media representatives from both countries, the event aimed to introduce Da Nang and Hue as leading destinations for Southeast Asian travellers.

Da Nang and Hue are recognized for their diverse destinations, rich cultural identity and beautiful natural landscapes.

In particular, both cities have been developing professional Halal tourism services that meets the needs of Muslim guests in accordance with Sharia law. These services focus on Halal-certified dining and suitable religious and lifestyle amenities so that tourists can travel, stay and have fun.

Within a radius of just 250km, the Da Nang - Hue region boasts three airports, including two international gateways, facilitating direct connectivity with major cities in Indonesia and Malaysia. This also creates favorable conditions for launching international charter flights.

Currently, the Kuala Lumpur - Da Nang route operates 35 flights/week, expected to increase to 42 flights/week from October 2025 with the participation of Vietjet Air.

Along with that, efforts are underway to promote the opening of a Jakarta - Da Nang direct air service.

One of the highlights at the programme has been the introduction of Halal-certified tourism services. Many restaurants, hotels, and tourist attractions in Da Nang and Hue all meet international Halal standards, with prayer rooms and religious-friendly amenities.

This helps Central Vietnam become a favorite destination for Muslim tourists from Indonesia, Malaysia and the Middle East, thereby greatly contributing to enhancing the multicultural tourism experience.

With modern tourism infrastructure, professional Halal services, diverse tourism products and plans to expand international routes, Da Nang and Hue are affirming their position as leading destinations in Southeast Asia, not only for Muslim tourists but also for the entire international market.

Such tourism promotion events in Malaysia and Indonesia have opened up opportunities for sustainable cooperation, paving the way for Central Vietnam to become a Halal tourism hub and a globally attractive destination.
