Da Nang expands partnership with South Korean businesses

DNO - Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong held a reception on Friday for a delegation of South Korean businesses led by Chairman of the South Korea - Vietnam Exchange Development Committee Lee Jong-il.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Cuong thanked the South Korea - Vietnam Exchange Development Committee for its special attention, and active support in connecting South Korean partners and people to work and travel in Da Nang.

He added that Da Nang is currently an attractive destination among South Korean travelers as receiving more than one million South Korean tourists each year. There are over 10 daily flights connecting Da Nang and South Korean localities.

The host also informed his guests about the city’s development orientation, with a goal of becoming an economic, cultural, educational, and logistics hub of Vietnam and the region. Currently, many specific policies for the city have been approved by the central government.

Da Nang is the first locality in the country to develop a Free Trade Zone, being considered as a vital driving force for the city to boost investment attraction and economic development, as well as expand international cooperation and develop tourism in the coming time.

In reply, Chairman of the South Korea - Vietnam Exchange Development Committee Lee Jong-il expressed his glad at his trip to Da Nang. He pledged to do his utmost to encourage more enterprises from his country to invest in Da Nang in such aspects as digital transformation, healthcare, culture and tourism.
