Da Nang strengthens cooperation with Russian localities

DNO - Highly appreciating the traditional friendship between Viet Nam and Russia over the past 75 years (1950 - 2025), both sides affirmed that this relationship serves as a solid foundation for promoting cooperation at the local level.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Council, hosted a reception on Friday for Ms. Mizonova Maria Georgievna, Russian Consul General in Da Nang, and a delegation from the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region in Russia.

At the meeting, Chairman Dung warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed his sincere gratitude to Ms. Mizonova Maria Georgievna for her positive contributions in connecting and promoting cooperation between Da Nang and Russian localities, especially Leningrad Oblast.

He informed that, to date, Da Nang has established ties with Yaroslavl Province and signed letters of intent for cooperation with Nizhny Novgorod and Bryansk provinces.

On the occasion, Mr. Dung briefed his guests on the city's development orientation for the coming period, with a focus on such key aspects as seaports, aviation, logistics; high-tech industries; information technology, electronics, telecommunications; and high-tech agriculture and fisheries.

Currently, Da Nang is prioritizing investment attraction in semiconductor, electronic chips, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), genetic technology, and stem cells.

The city aims to become a major socio-economic hub of Vietnam and Southeast Asia by 2030, and to develop into an ecological and smart city by 2045.

For her part, Ms. Mizonova Maria Georgievna discussed the progress of signing a cooperation agreement between Da Nang and Leningrad.

Both sides agreed to focus cooperation on key areas, including economy and trade, culture, tourism, education and training, and healthcare. Moreover, they pledged to creating favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, policies, and legal frameworks to ensure effective cooperation.

She vowed to actively connect with partners in Russia and provide maximum support to facilitate cooperation and achieve substantive outcomes.
