Chairman Hung congratulated Consul General Han Jungil on his new appointment and expressed confidence that his tenure would further advance practical and effective cooperation between Da Nang and South Korea.

Describing South Korea as one of Da Nang’s most important strategic partners, Mr. Hung emphasized that South Korean investors have operated 345 projects in the city with a combined registered capital of more than US$1.3 billion.

South Korea is also Da Nang's largest international tourism market. In 2025, the city welcomed 2.1 million South Korean visitors, accounting for nearly half of all South Korean arrivals to Viet Nam, he added.

The city leader took the opportunity to call on the South Korean diplomat to help connect South Korean corporations and businesses with investment opportunities in Da Nang, particularly in hi-tech, semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), financial services and tourism.

He also proposed strengthening cooperation between Da Nang and South Korean localities, promoting cultural exchanges and people-to-people diplomacy, and supporting the city leaders’ working program in South Korea in the near future.

Chairman Hung pledged that Da Nang will continue to provide a transparent and business-friendly investment environment while offering full support for South Korean enterprises to effectively implement their projects in the city.

For his part, Consul General Han Jungil said he was impressed by Da Nang's rapid development and believed that the city would continue to achieve strong growth in the years ahead.

He noted that, as one of Viet Nam's key economic centers, Da Nang's continued development would not only drive regional growth but also contribute to stronger economic cooperation between Viet Nam and South Korea.

The Consul General affirmed his commitment to encouraging more companies from his country to invest in Da Nang.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining regular dialogue and timely exchanges of information on the city's investment environment and potential projects.

He also voiced his hope that the Da Nang People's Committee would facilitate the Consulate General's participation in business networking activities to enhance investment promotion efforts.
