During a visit to Busan on July 14, the city’s Department of Home Affairs discussed labor cooperation and supply-demand matching to promote overseas employment and strengthen worker protection.
At a meeting with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Busan (South Korea), Deputy Director of the Da Nang City Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Qui Quy highlighted the city’s labour and employment situation, with a particular focus on sending workers to South Korea through the EPS and seasonal worker programmes.
Ms Doan Phuong Lan, Consul General of Vietnam in Busan, said the Consulate oversees consular affairs in six cities and provinces in southern South Korea. The Vietnamese community in the region, including a large number of workers from Da Nang, remains closely connected and actively supports each other while maintaining strong ties with the Consulate.

Mr Nguyen Qui Quy expressed hope that the Consulate would continue supporting Da Nang in expanding cooperation with South Korean localities, not only by strengthening partnerships with existing counterparts but also by establishing new connections with regions seeking seasonal workers.
He also called for the Consulate’s assistance in addressing cases of worker abscondment and illegal residency, while encouraging local authorities to improve working conditions and employment benefits for Vietnamese workers.
