Da Nang delegation visits Vietnamese Consulate General in Pakse

DNO - On the afternoon of April 2, a high-level delegation from Da Nang City led by Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang visited and held a working session with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse (Champasak, Laos).

At the meeting, Consul General of Vietnam in Pakse Ta Phuong Dung said that Southern Lao provinces are upgrading transport infrastructure and attracting investment to strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese localities, including Da Nang.

She noted that the Vietnamese community remains united and active in local development, while Vietnamese enterprises in Southern Laos are implementing 25 projects worth about USD500 million across sectors such as agriculture, mining, services, energy, healthcare, and banking.

In the field of education and human resource development, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse has promoted education cooperation through STEM training, robotics competitions, Vietnamese language teaching, school upgrades, and teacher exchanges between Vietnam and Laos.

Ta Phuong Dung proposed that Da Nang strengthen cooperation in investment, education, people-to-people exchanges, and experience-sharing in urban planning and e-government, while continuing scholarship support for Lao students.

Speaking at the working session, Le Ngoc Quang said the delegation’s visit aimed to translate high-level commitments into practical cooperation programmes with Southern Laos. He noted that Da Nang is focusing on planning and infrastructure development, especially East - West connectivity, while pursuing strong economic growth.

He expressed hope that the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse would continue linking Vietnamese communities, localities, and Southern Lao provinces and supporting business cooperation in areas such as green agriculture, renewable energy, and tourism.

The delegation also extended New Year greetings to the consulate staff and Vietnamese community on the occasion of Bunpimay.
