Enhancing digital capabilities

The Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade (DIT) has introduced practical training programs to strengthen digital business skills among local producers.

In September 2026, more than 100 representatives of businesses, cooperatives and household enterprises attended a training program in Ben Hien Commune. The event covered product labelling, consumer protection, online store development, product photography and livestream sales.

Similar activities were organized at the 2026 Da Nang E-commerce Fair in Hoi An Ward, where businesses received support in establishing Shopee stores and adopting digital sales solutions.

Da Nang is also piloting the 2026 “E-commerce Communes and Wards” program in five localities, aimed at promoting cashless payments, livestream sales and digital business skills while narrowing the digital divide.

Building a digital commerce ecosystem

According to the Vietnam E-commerce Business Index 2026, Da Nang ranks third nationwide, behind Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The DIT has partnered with Shopee, TikTok Shop, Canva and the Vietnam E-commerce Association to provide specialised training and support digital transformation.

The DIT Deputy Director Huynh Xuan Son said these initiatives help businesses apply digital technology, expand markets and increase product value.

Lai Viet Anh, Deputy Director of the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency, highlighted Da Nang’s advantages in infrastructure, tourism, services and local products, pledging continued support for its e-commerce development.

At an October 22 workshop, experts suggested that Da Nang could become a cross-border e-commerce hub for central Vietnam.

As of June 30, 2026, Da Nang had 63,110 businesses and branches, including more than 38,000 small and medium-sized enterprises. Business-to-consumer e-commerce accounted for nearly 10% of total retail sales, with average annual growth exceeding 20% during 2021-2025.
