At the meeting, Vice Chairman Ho Quang Buu said the cooperation between Hamyang County and Nam Tra My District (formerly in Quang Nam Province) had produced many practical results, serving as a model that could be replicated in other localities.
He also expressed Da Nang's hope that Hamyang would continue sharing its experience and supporting the development of the city's medicinal herb ecosystem while creating opportunities for workers from the city's 37 mountainous communes to study and enhance their vocational skills in South Korea.
Both sides expressed confidence that expanding cooperation would generate greater value and contribute to the sustainable development of the two localities.
Governor Jin Byoungyoung said Hamyang and Nam Tra My had maintained a close friendship since 2015, achieving tangible results in cultural exchanges, ginseng development, and seasonal labour cooperation.
On that foundation, he said, establishing a cooperative relationship with Da Nang would create opportunities to expand collaboration in agriculture, ginseng product processing, and business connectivity. He also hoped that the two localities would continue strengthening their friendship and pursuing sustainable development together.

On the occasion, the Da Nang People's Committee and the government of Hamyang County, Gyeongsangnam Province, exchanged a friendship cooperation agreement.
Under the agreement, the two sides will strengthen cooperation in high-tech agriculture, medicinal herb development, tourism, culture, education, and economic development.
In particular, they will exchange expertise in the research, cultivation, conservation, and processing of ginseng products, including Vietnam's Ngoc Linh ginseng and South Korea's mountain ginseng.
The two sides also agreed to cooperate in the dispatch and reception of seasonal workers to Hamyang County while facilitating cooperation between relevant agencies and local authorities in signing and implementing labour supply agreements in accordance with the laws of both countries.
In addition, Da Nang and Hamyang will step up delegation exchanges and encourage organisations, businesses, and research institutions to cooperate in developing medicinal herbs, particularly Ngoc Linh ginseng and Korean ginseng, while promoting the cultural, economic, tourism, and signature products of both localities.
