Da Nang and Chinese teams unveil new technologies for DIFF 2026 opening night

Da Nang - Vietnam: Touching audience's emotions

Representing the host city, Team Da Nang - Vietnam will produce a performance under the theme “Nature”, combining melodious music with brilliant lighting effects.

Through the art of light, the team wants to convey a message about environmental protection, cultural identity conservation, and collective responsibility for protect the shared home of humanity.

This year's display will feature many innovations in both techniques to the selection of diverse and colorful fireworks, harmoniously combined with music to match the theme of the performance night and touch the emotions of the audience.

Mr. Nguyen Nhat Vu, leader of Da Nang - Vietnam, said although the team has competed in the annual DIFF event since 2008 and has been familiar with the pace of competition, weather conditions remain a major challenge for every participating team on performance nights.

Besides that, the participating teams all have long-standing traditions, extensive experience, and mastery of fireworks technology and production.

According to Mr. Vu, around half of the team members have changed this year. However, the new members have quickly adapted and absorbed previous generations.

The combination of experienced and young members has brought fresh ideas and technical creativity to this year’s performance.

“Our strengths lie in solidarity, discipline, years of competition experience, and a strong sense of responsibility” he added.

Competing on home ground also gives the team a sense of confidence and pride.

“The encouragement and support from local residents and audiences motivate us to deliver an emotional and memorable performance for this year’s fireworks season” Mr. Vu said.

China: Bringing many new ideas and technologies

As the reigning champion of DIFF 2025, the Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co., Ltd. is bringing to this year's festival new equipment never before seen at DIFF, along with many new ideas and advanced techniques.

Under the theme “Flower of the Orient”, the team’s performance is inspired by the famous Chinese folk song “Jasmine Flower”. It combines high-quality smokeless fireworks with melodies rich in Eastern cultural identity.

With its strength in creating soft, delicate lighting effects and the ability to ‘paint’ movements in the sky, the Chinese team hopes to recreate the beauty of Eastern nature in a poetic way. Through this performance, audiences will gain a deeper understanding of Oriental and Chinese culture.

Mr. Liang Weiming, leader of the Chinese team, informed their team’s preparations were almost complete. The high-altitude fireworks were basically installed and everything progressed very well.

He also praised the support from the festival’s organizers and Da Nang authorities, as well as the fairness of the judging panel, saying these factors have helped DIFF become a major international event attracting fireworks teams from around the world.

He expressed his belief that DIFF has become one of the world’s most prestigious and outstanding fireworks festivals. Through the festival, more international friends will learn more about the city.
