(QNO) - A delegation from the Quang Nam provincial People's Procuracy, led by Deputy Chief Prosecutor Nguyen Thi Kim Hong, visited Sekong province (Laos).
The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation, share legal experience, and provide both technical and material support to the Sekong People's Procuracy.
The visit was part of the 2022 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties.
It was approved by the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam and the Quang Nam provincial Party Committee.
Representatives from Kon Tum and Hue People's Procuracies also joined the meeting.
During the event, Ms Hong shared updates on Quang Nam’s political and economic development, and achievements of Quang Nam’s two-level procuracy system since the last meeting in November 2022.
Ms Hong also stated that the border area remains peaceful, with close coordination among border forces in patrols and legal education.
Sekong Chief Prosecutor Khambang Phasavaeng expressed appreciation for Quang Nam’s support.
The two parties exchanged professional experiences and signed a new memorandum of understanding, focusing on legal education in border regions and mutual assistance.
The Quang Nam delegation gifted Sekong 4 computers and other items worth over 100 million VND.
Besides, some provincial localities contributed gifts, reflecting friendship and solidarity.
The delegation also met with Lechlay Sivilay, Secretary and Governor of Sekong, who appreciated the cooperation and praised Quang Nam People's Procuracy as a vital link in the long-standing friendship between the two provinces.
